TABLE 3: REGIONAL GROUPS

For purposes of elections to UN bodies and offices, and for caucusing, an unofficial system of regional groups has evolved over time at the United Nations. In virtually all cases, Member States decide with which regional group they wish to be affiliated. In a few cases, a Member State may be considered part of one regional group for elections, but may also caucus with another group.
